2006 PAESMEM Position Paper

The 2005 PAESMEM awardees collaborated with a number of previous awardees on a white paper that encouraged various STEM funding agencies to implement policies and programs that focus on mentoring. The report's title is: "Mentoring for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Workforce Development and Lifelong Productivity: Success across the K through Grey Continuum."

As stated in the Executive Summary, “The strength of the scientific discovery and technological innovation enterprise is always built upon a foundation of mentoring.”

2014 National Mentoring Month Google+ Hangout with PAESMEM recipients

During National Mentoring Month, NSF sponsored a Google+ Hangout on STEM mentoring. Maria Zacharias interviewed several PAESMEM recipients, as well as Fae Jencks, White House Office of Science and Technology Policy and NSF Assistant Director Joan Ferrini-Mundy, who leads the Education and Human Resources directorate.

2016 Alumni Meeting Materials

The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), with sponsorship from the National Science Foundation (NSF), will convene alumni of the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Science, Mathematics and Engineering Mentoring (PAESMEM) and alumni of the AAAS Lifetime Mentor Awards in a three-day event addressing “New Directions for Inclusive STEM Education and Career Mentoring.”
