Anthony Carpi is Professor of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice at the City University of New York. He spearheaded two college-wide efforts – the Mathematics/Science Resource Center and the Program for Research Initiatives for Science Majors – that have significantly increased minority access to careers in the sciences by reducing attrition, improving graduation rates, and dramatically increasing the number of graduates who pursue advanced degrees in the sciences.
